Selective Breed Standards

Umm, I see a useful page here! Don't you think? Sometimes we forget, sometimes we are not up-to-date with new standards or we are just new to the whole idea of this weird selective breed they all talk about but we've been gone for so long or just missed it when someone came up with it!

Not only Chestnut's official selective breed, the Tempus, but many others with their respective creators credited will be up here for you to take a look! Well-known ones, not very popular ones, new ones! Anything we can find and anything you can help us find as well! If you know about any or have your own feel free to e-mail us because everyone and anyone is more than welcome to be added!

Fetish

Origin: Krista at 360º.

Appearance: this dogz are mostly dane shaped, though the ears and tail can be a sheepdog's (a sheepie tail makes it a "Rare version" Fetish Dane) as well as their ears. Their coat must be curled (a poodle's) or fuzzy (a scottie's or sheepie's), it can not be smooth or "short haired". Any eyelid, eye and coat colour is accepted as long as it's natural.

Markings: fetish danes require mutt patches, at least one to fit the standard, other markings like scottie, poodle, chihuahua, and dalmatian's are also allowed but not required to qualify. Fetishes are considered rare when their tails are a sheepie's because of their rarity when breeding. The ears can be black like the dalmatian's and also brown like the mutt's. Any other markings and stuff are just a plus, so fuzz, mutt patches and dane body are the things to stick to.

Fancy Mutt

no picture available

Origin: Krista at 360º.

Appearance: also known as schizos (only if they have both poodle and mutt behaviour, otherwise just fancy mutts), they were bred to have curly silky coats (poodle's) normal mutts don't have. Their bodies are a mutt's, even the tail can't be a poodle's. They can have both poodle and mutt behaviour to fit the standard, this means they act like mutts but prance and pose like poodles. This is not needed though. Coat, eyelid and eye colours can be any as long as they are natural. The size must be a mutt's, not a poodle or a minimized version of a mutt.

Markings: the markings on them can come from poodles and/or mutts, the muzzle must always be grey, ears can be brown or self.

Tamsin

Origin: Star at Starwept.

Appearance: the dalmatians structure is preferred, though mutt legs and feet are allowed as well as any dogz tail. Minis are not considered tamsins. All types of coats are accepted, spotted or not: smooth, poodle fuzz or scottie fuzz. Any colour accepted.

Markings: the dog needs to have mutt patches to be a tamsin, however, other markings were accepted if they are combined with the mutt's. So purely chihuahua markings or purely scottie markings won't be enough to make a tamsin. You must also be careful with some markings that appear to be a mutt's but come from other breedz. Sheepdog, scottie and dachshund markings are accepted if they are on a dali mixie with mutt patches only.

Gypsy

Origin: unknown.

Appearance: gypsies have a full calico shape and are free of calico patches and are always solid coloured. Any coat colour combination as long as they are bicolored (no solids with hidden markings) eye colours and eyelids are accepted. Coon, oshie and persian/chinchilla persian tails are accepted as long as they have the corresponding markings to be part of the standard.

Markings: the cat must have patches on one of their jowls, their tail, a paw and an ear. If it has less markings than that then it is not considered a gypsy, the three patches are all obligatory to fit the standard. There are tail markings like the one shown on the picture and also tail markings that have a tailtip as well. This catz can not have other patches than the ones shown on the picture, which actually come from the calico breed itself.

Patchwork

Origin: unknown.

Appearance: this pet look a lot like gypsies and are also solid coloured with any eyelid, eye and and coat colour. The body shape is fully a calico's. They can either be bicoloured or tricoloured, but never be a single colour, meaning not with hidden markings. Coon, oshie and persian/chinchilla persian tails are accepted as long as they have the corresponding markings to be part of the standard.

Markings: it is not certain whether the patches all have to be white, but combinations can be done, the chest patch and face steak will always be white, though, because of the petz genetics. The markings that can differ in colour are the jowl, tail, ear and paw's. This cat must have all of the markings shown in order to fit the standard.

Phantom

no picture available

Origin: Krista at 360º.

Appearance: this catz are entirely calico shaped and they can be solid or bicoloured. Their eyelids and eyes can be any natural colour. They can be fuzzy or have a regular coat. If the body is not 100% calico then the cat won't qualify as a phantom.

Markings: phantoms have alley markings only. They need alley spots and patches and also a grey muzzle which can't be missed or the can't won't fit the standard. Other markings apart from the alley's are not allowed, this includes calico patches. The body must have at least a few spots and a grey muzzle, though cream patches don't have to be all over the body, though they are a plus.

Tempus

Origin: Luli at Chestnut.

Appearance: the structure of the tempus is majorly a calico's, although the ears can be from any catz breed. The tail must be either persian/chinchilla persian, coon, oshie, tabby or calico. The coat is strictly striped. Any eyelid or eye colour is accepted.

Markings: the cat must have a coloured muzzle (different from the coat colour) and/or a chest patch and/or a tailtip to be an accepted tempus. The breed is still being tested, since more markings or variations might show up with the texture. There are some markings that apparently stay underneath the coat and some that go over it or in between the colour and the stripes, like the alley cat's for example. This shall be modified in the future when the breed's been studied some more, I haven't had time to experiment with these.
